Vincent Monteil

After his studies at the Conservatory of Angers and then in Rueil-Malmaison, he pursued his studies in musicology at the Sorbonne and perfected himself in orchestral conducting alongside Gérard Devos and Pierre Dervaux. From 1991 to 1996, he was assistant conductor at the Capitole de Toulouse with Michel Plasson. In 1996, he joined the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted around thirty performances there per year for six years. From 1999 to 2003, he initiated an ongoing collaboration with the Prague State Opera where he became guest conductor for French opera. During the Prague Spring 2002, he conducted Carmen, Robert le Diable and Ariane et Barbe-Bleue. The operas he recorded in Prague earned him the invitation of Sir John Eliot Gardiner to prepare Ariane et Barbe-Bleue in Zurich for him. Since 2005, it has been chosen by the AFAA (then CulturesFrance and the Institut français) to broadcast French music abroad as part of the "one conductor, one orchestra" program. This is how he directed both the symphonic and lyrical repertoires in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Georgia, Serbia, Russia but also in Spain, Italy, Germany and Canada. From 2012 to 2014 he was Artistic Director of the Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte di Montepulciano festival, in Tuscany. Since 2008, he has been Music Director of the Opera Studio and Music Advisor of the OnR.
