Presentation
Fairytales can teach us a lot about life. Take Hansel and Gretel, two ravenous children forced to go in search of food because their behavior is driving their mother to desperation. Alone, terrified and defenseless, they experience the harsh realities of life, especially when they meet a wicked witch who turns children into gingerbread -- ironic, considering they were in search of something to eat. Jean-Philippe Delavault shows us how this classic tale still resonates strongly with modern audiences, and draws unexpected yet accurate parallels between the children's rite of passage and today's social and environmental concerns.
