Lieders and songs by Mahler, Berg, Schumann, Pfitzner, Poulenc, and Fauré
Before exploring the delicate melodies of Fauré and Poulenc, French baritone Stéphane Degout dives into the post-romantic songs of Mahler and Pfitzner (who was director of the Strasbourg Opera at the beginning of the 20th century). The recital will also feature the little-known poetry of Hans Christian Andersen and Schumann’s Andersen Lieder.
