Presentation
Born into the circus and a nomadic childhood, Jandolo draws from autobiographical details to create his installations. A former student of the fine arts, he has developed a practice that often gives the spectator the role of voyeur. Before the Shadow Passes is a mobile installation consisting of a recreated camp—similar to where the artist grew up—and a caravan as a centrepiece that will be transformed into a “cabinet of curiosities”. Circus music and sounds assembled from Jandolo’s family archives form the backing track that will echo around the HEAR gardens. Spectators will be invited to walk around this intimate space imagined as a mobile museum.
