Presentation
In Wings of Desire, German film director Wim Wenders depicts an angel who chooses mortality over pure, immaterial eternity when he falls in love with a woman. Inspired by this masterpiece of cinema, Bruno Bouché's Wings of Desire explores through music and movement the absolute mystery of incarnation. Each quiver of the flesh, each stirring of the senses is an indescribable experience that conjures a burst of synesthesia and unites body and soul. Dance and music are surely better than words at rousing feelings and stimulating the senses -- smell, taste, touch -- that make us happy to be alive, and which we too often take for granted. In this gentle musing on the senses, Bouché combines existing music with pieces specially commissioned from young London-based composer Jamie Man.
