Four musicians form Orchestre symphonique de Mulhouse as a quartet for this concert which combines 2 composers who have been influenced by non-European music. Philip Glass said that the discovery in Paris in the 1960s of Ravi Shankar had completely changed his way of thinking music. And Thierry Pécou, the composer of the opera Until the Lions, long before embarking on the writing of this opera, made many trips to India to discover the different artistic faces of the subcontinent. But his curiosity leads him to be interested in all music. For Fuga del son, he was inspired by Cuban complex and specific rhythmic polyphony.
