Mozart wrote his second opera at the age of 12. It was written as a parody of Rousseau’s opera Le Devin du Village. In a simple world of shepherds, the lovers’ quarrel between Bastien and Bastienne is resolved by Colas, the mischievous village magician. Three singers from the OnR Choir share the stage with musicians from the Orchestre philharmonique de Strasbourg for this delightful performance.
