The stunning animated films released by Studio Ghibli are set to music by Joe Hisaishi, whose harmonies take cues as much from Tchaikovsky as from traditional Japanese music. Here, a selection of his most beautiful scores—Princess Mononoke, Grave of the Fireflies, My Neighbor Totoro—for accordion and voice are accompanied by clips from these beloved movies.
