On a winter’s morning as she queued for coffee in the Strasbourg Conservatoire café, Yuliia Vydovska began to hum an old Ukrainian song she sang as a child in her hometown of Cherkasy in Ukraine. Her three friends Maxime Epp, Nello Dronne and Lucas Habe were captivated. That evening, the four of them decided to interpret the melody through jazz, and Fuz4tet was born. After two years of experimenting on stage with a subtle fusion of modern jazz and traditional Ukrainian songs, the group has just released its acclaimed first album POTiTCHOK. Expect a sensitive and stirring performance with lyrical sounds and irresistible driving rhythms.
