European ballets of the 21st century takes place over three evenings to celebrate creativity and diversity in contemporary dance with three richly woven and complementary programs that bring together 11 ballets and showcase several leading choreographers. These pieces form an exciting and diverse panorama, from the neoclassical heritage of Kader Belarbi and Thierry Malandain to the explosive ingenuity of collective La Horde, which recently took the helm of the Ballet National de Marseille, through to the highly personal perspectives of Mats Ek, Angelin Preljocaj and Chinese choreographer Xie Xin. A three-act display of the wealth of creative talent coursing through the veins of contemporary ballet.
