Kolams workshop (ephemeral drawings)

The Kolams are creative, artistic and meditative designs drawn on the ground as a sign of welcome. Artistic dexterity is united with mathematical thinking. Originally ephemeral, these geometrically inspired drawings made with rice powder and colours, represent an alchemy of art and nature. Through the shapes accuracy, the Kolams thus combine mysticism and mathematics.
