Biography
He studied piano, singing, conducting and composition at the Conservatory of Athens, his hometown. A member of the Athens Opera troupe, he played Belcore (The Elixir of Love), Don Carlo (Ernani), Papageno, Conte di Luna (Le Trouvère), Figaro (The Barber of Seville), Guglielmo ( Così fan tutte), Eugène Onegin. At the Deutsche Oper am Rhein he sang Posa (Don Carlos), Germont (La Traviata), Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor), the Count (Les Noces de Figaro), Don Giovanni, Figaro (The Barber of Seville), Dandini (La Cenerentola) ), Taddeo (The Italian in Algiers), Silvio (Pagliacci), Guglielmo, Ulisse (The Return of Ulysses to his homeland), Oreste (Iphigénie en Tauride), Eugène Onegin. He is invited to all major international lyrical stages and festivals and added to his repertoire the roles of Don Giovanni, Alfonso (La Favorite), Pelléas, Ford (Falstaff), Oreste d'Andromaque de Grétry (at TCE), Monfort ( Sicilian Vespers), Valentin (Faust), Macbeth, Silvio (Pagliacci), Egée (Theseus by Gossec), Danaüs (Les Danaïdes de Salieri), Ali Baba de Lecocq, Marcello (La Bohème), Cinq-Mars de Gounod, Chorèbe ( Les Troyens), Spiridion (The Silver Stamp of Saint-Saëns at the Opéra Comique). Recently he sang Posa (Don Carlo) and Wozzeck (title role) in Athens, Le Portrait de Manon by Massenet and Le Villi by Puccini in concert in Limoges. His projects include Idomenée de Campra in Lille and at the Staatsoper Berlin, as well as numerous productions produced by the Palazetto Bru Zane in Venice (Phèdre, Dardanus, Psyché). At the OnR he played Jeletski (La Dame de Pique) and Posa (Don Carlo). This season, he will play the role of Sharpless in Madame Butterfly as well as that of Creon in the creation of Hémon by Zad Moultaka
