Council of Europe Wednesdays

The Václav Havel Human Rights Prize, created by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and launched in Prague on 25 March 2013, is awarded in memory of Václav Havel, an enduring symbol of resistance to despotism. In partnership with the Václav Havel Library, the Charter 77 Foundation and the Czech government, the Prize rewards outstanding civic action in defense of human rights in Europe and beyond. Anne Brasseur, former President of the Parliamentary Assembly and member of the Prize jury, will chair this debate for the Council of Europe Wednesdays.
